From 23rd to 27th February, 1916, the 13th King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 111 Brigade, 37th Division, were in the front line at Bailleuval, a few miles to the south-west of Arras. According to the Battalion Diary the enemy were quiet on 26th February, but obviously not quiet enough for William Lansdowne who was killed in a action on that day. |
